Pumpways (formerly New Solar Pumps) is an innovative organisation committed to helping poor communities to access clean water. Their product is a solar pump station for drinking water supply and irrigation specifically for sustainable development aid in developing countries, neat huh?!
Here’s the problem: currently in regions in Africa where NSP aims to operate, 90% of pumps are hand pumps which are high maintenance and inefficient.
NSP delivers water by using the renewable energy of sun while at the same time considering lower technology standards in developing countries by using maintenance free pump system and pumping water for free! The smallest NSP system can supply people up to 1,000 people in developing countries with clean water!
