It’s time to say “Yes!” to marriage equality in Ireland!
Ben & Jerry’s is excited to be joining hands with our friends at Marriage Equality to show our support for everyone’s right to marry the one they love in Ireland!
And, just for the occasion, we’re happy to announce that we’re symbolically re-naming Mint Chocolate Chunk to – drumroll, please – EngageMint Party – to encourage everyone across Ireland to take action now on this important civil rights issue. We’ll be serving EngageMint Party at select events in Ireland this summer.
Social justice has been a core value of Ben & Jerry’s since the Company’s earliest days, and marriage equality is an issue that’s particularly near and dear to us. Way back in 1989, Ben & Jerry’s was one of the first companies in the U.S. to extend partner benefits to our gay and lesbian employees. More recently, we were proud to support the creation of equal access to marriage in our home state of Vermont in 2009.
Everyone deserves the right to marry the one they love! Please join us in taking action by contacting your TD now, sharing the word with friends and family, and keeping the pressure on for a referendum on marriage equality in Ireland. With 79% of Ireland’s Constitutional Convention in support, the time is now to make equal access to marriage a reality for everyone in Ireland.
